#Throwback Saturday

Late 2009: I purchased my first turn-key race car — a VW Corrado which was used to compete in various SCCA and ICSCC races throughout the Northwest area of the United States.

A weekend of mechanical lessons at Thunder Hill Raceway, circa 2010.

The first real season of racing (2010) resulted a lap record and few trophies, but also many DNFs due to being the sole mechanic and learning how to keep the car fast and reliable. Though the mechanical learning curve was steep, the reward was high which kept me fueled for the next race (ie. next breakdown).

Patiently waiting.. Pre-grid during a ICSCC competition with Northwest Motorsports at Spokane County Raceway, circa 2011.
Qualifying in Spokane Washington strong enough for the top qualifying position, July 2011.
