Happiness means something different to everyone. For some it’s being in prime physical health, for others happiness means a job well done; however, happiness eludes many. Many people seek happiness from objects, other people, or events. The fact is happiness isn’t found in the external, but in the internal. Nothing can bring you happiness unless you are open to it from within. So, here are six ways to increase happiness in your life.

Reflect on Your Positives

It’s easy to get lost in all the negative things in life. Negatives tend to be louder and more urgent. For example, if we wake up late for work, we get rushed, we may skip breakfast, we may miss our transportation or hit the morning rush hour, we may get griped at by our boss. One misstep leads to one negative after another. All the noise can lead to a very bad day.

Its inevitable negatives things will happen; however, happiness comes when reflection on the good things. Remember the good things that you’ve accomplished. You may have been late for work, but maybe you spent a little extra time talking to your partner the night before. Your boss might be a jerk but look at how great you did on a big project.
