Pushing Forward Together
So yet another day has come to pass as I continue with this enriching experience at the Andela bootcamp 10. I want to say that it has been a smooth ride but it honestly hasn’t. The truth is much like any journey to success , the road to becoming an Andela fellow is one that will test you in many ways. But a wise man once said, if it doesn’t suck then it’s not worth doing.
We are now into day 3 of bootcamp and already I have a wealth of new skills under my belt, from Git to TDD to great teamwork that I have been able to develop and share with my fellow bootcampers. A special mention goes to the cool kids ,a group of talented individuals who I’ve been privileged to have an opportunity to work with. Together we have been able to teach each other and learn from each other great new concepts and expand each other’s way of thinking. Even as I type this we are still working on today’s assignment “a simple command line application that consumes a Public API using a HTTP client library”. If you asked me how this is to be executed not too long ago I would be clueless but right now I’m on the verge of completing this task and I couldn’t have done it without them.
Our team lead, Joy, has also been a huge factor in making the whole bootcamp experience more fulfilling . She encourages us to keep pushing forward and help each other out in true Andela fashion. She is always ready to help where needed and gives us great feedback on our progress as well as tips on how we can improve on ourselves. It is great to work with the assistance of someone who creates such a positive and conducive atmosphere.
Overall, the whole bootcamp experience has been intense and enjoyable and I look forward to more of the same in the coming days and hopefully years as the journey into the fellowship continues.
