My coffee mug steamed in my hand as I stood looking out the back door. Another low slung, overcast, grey day was in store. We get so many of them during a southwestern Indiana winter it’s sometimes hard to remember what the sun looks like.

Maddie sidled up to me. “I wish it was summer,” she sighed. “I hate winter. Daddy, which season is your favorite?”
