Teaching isn’t a Calling. It’s a Job.
Jon Parker

If teaching is just a job, why do teachers do it despite the fact that they could earn a lot more working in many other roles? Teachers after all need to be graduates, have decent people skills, able to organise their time, be able to motivate a team etc - all skills highly desirable in many other professions. I would suggest that to accept that sacrifice of potential earnings there must be something of a “calling” to teaching.
