The Firm aims to spur growth in one of the world’s hotbeds of blockchain adoption.
Ava Labs (the “Firm”) is accelerating its push in Asia with a new senior hire, Laura Nguyen. Laura will focus on driving the adoption of Avalanche in the country while fostering business and community development.
Laura brings experience in the big tech and startup ecosystems of Vietnam and the Southeast Asia region. While at Amazon Web Services, Laura worked primarily out of Vietnam and the Philippines to help Web2 and Web3 startups leverage cloud services. Before Amazon, Laura assisted banks and governments with cybersecurity initiatives.
“I am thrilled to join the Ava Labs team,” Laura said. “The prospect of spearheading the Firm’s expansion efforts in such a dynamic blockchain landscape is truly exciting, and I look forward to helping advance the Avalanche network in Vietnam and beyond.”
Laura joins Ava Labs at a key moment for blockchain in Vietnam. According to Chainalysis’ 2023 Global Crypto Adoption Index, Vietnam has the third-highest blockchain adoption of any country. The research firm has also found that South and Southeast Asia are “leading the way in grassroots crypto adoption.”
In 2023, Ava Labs already expanded its efforts in India, the country with the most blockchain adoption. Ava Labs also added new teams in Korea and Japan, two of the fastest-growing and most-advanced blockchain markets in East Asia.

Laura has a keen interest in Web3 gaming. Two of the leading Avalanche apps out of Vietnam, Metados and Rune Seeker, are gaming apps. Laura is excited to share more soon about what Vietnam-based devs are building.
On December 7 in Hanoi, Ava Labs is hosting a hackathon with Sotatek, a software developer with a large presence in Vietnam. As the first step in a new collaboration between Ava Labs and SotaTek, 500 developers will be trained via Avalanche Academy.
