Correct me if I’m wrong, but it seems the progressive alternative to universally applied “rights” is a method of determining whoever is the oppressed and oppressor in a given context and take the oppressed’s side.

This way we don’t have to do with annoying work of extending rights like free speech to racists or freedom of religion to Christian fundamentalists.

Is this is an accurate reflection of the current progressive approach?
