Snapchat’s business model wasn’t built to scale, and the reason they’re struggling right now is because they’re grappling to come to terms with that. The fact that they tried to pivot into a camera/product company and leave behind the social network status is proof of a leap in that direction which never panned out.
This is especially important for younger people that are looking to enter the workforce. If you’re going to choose a job based on title or the company, you’re in for a surprise. Yes, it’s exciting to get to work at a big tech company and get a crazy title that you can show off to your friends, but after 18 months — the novelty wears off.
