New to ‘Medium’ so forgive my double posting. Going to a rally is not supporting the candidate. My own son at 22 is a huge Sanders supporter; and the apple did not fall far from the tree. Though he is quick to point out, my support for Sanders is not the reason he supports him. He made his own decisions. However, when free Trump Rally tix were handed out at his university in S. Mississippi — he went. He went to see the hype. He sent me a photo of the crowd, with an addendum stating “where’s waldo?” He meant, there was not one PoC in the whole place. Biloxi Mississippi is well mixed. Even in my family we have black or mixed raced members. My son is openly gay and proud of it even in Mississippi. You’d think it would be difficult — he lives/works in an area dubbed ‘Gay St Louis” [instead of Bay…] so it’s more moderate along the coast. Going to a Rally does not = support for candidate. It’s taking part in OUR civic duties! Paying attention.
It’s not so dumb when one knows the work your father put in to understand civics.
