Chembur

My sindhi landlord, was related to the whole neighborhood, would tell us stories of moving from Karachi. He was a lovely man. He introduced us to his old sindhi and parsee uncles who would sit and talk to us for hours! He was also married to a parsee lady whose family also moved after partition. Anyway, this was shortlived, I had to move on campus (TISS) and didn’t venture out much. Moving to Deonar was a different experience, the other side of Chembur, ie. Govandi and Deonar is the ugly side. Highest cancer rates, infant mortality and one of the largest dumping grounds in the world, which is making a lot of new right now because of fire and rising pollution levels.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
