Butterflies.

I’m afraid to let my dreams bloom

I’d rather stay in the warmth of my cocoon

Rather than drown in this monsoon

Mama ‘ll be home soon.

Her wings will show the ability to fly

So rather than try

Why won’t I,

Cower under the blanket sky.

I’m just a caterpillar,

‘bout to drown in my self-doubt,

My fear balances me out.

Fear of failure I mean,

Everyone is glown

I’m yet to be seen.

I wanna fly with the guidance of the moon

With the help of other butterflies

Out from broken cocoons,

Together navigating the night sky.

All I can think is fly

Now you know what it means to have butterflies

In your tummy,

They tell you lies.
