Can tech solve the doctor shortage in Nigeria
Ikpeme Neto

The problem of shortage of medical personnel is worst in rural areas of the country which if i am right contains a large number of the population, also in the cities those who have problems accessing healthcare are the base of pyramid patients, the use of tech via mobile applications does not take care of these people in any way, mobile penetration is low in some of these areas, phones that can handle such apps are not so common among them and some of them cant even use these apps if they could access it. I believe technology can hel this underserved group but not in the way we are imagining it at present. Safermom and Omomi seem to be more useful in that regard thought not extensively.

There is a lot more work to be done, our innivation should be more people driven and less “lab” driven
