You know what women notice? A mans watch.

A watch is a way for a man to make a statement, besides your shoes, your clothes, your hair, or even your approach. We’re visual creatures aren’t we! And let me tell you first impressions are everything. Men should be more willing to wear watches. Not saying women can’t but we got a whole lot of jewelry to choose from already. So treat your watch like a brand new tie. It’s like jewelry for men! Unless you’re a ring on a pinky finger, eyebrow piercing type of guy…anyways! If you’re not a watch person, for the simple fact you don’t know how to wear one, here are some easy tips & benefits to follow:

1. What will a watch say about you

Back in the day, before us millennials were obligated to have cellphones, men wore watches. So when important occasions come along (dates, weddings, meetings, etc.) it didn’t appear rude to take a quick glance. Unlike, today, we look at our phones to glance at the time and next thing you know we’re checking our notifications. RUDE! Wearing a watch breaks that habit.

· Righties, wear your watch on your left wrist and Lefties wear your watch on your Right wrist. Do it, believe me, it makes sense.

· Are you a laid back guy or an analytical one? I’d say if you don’t care what the exact time is you’re a stick dial type and a more conscious person would be the numerical type

· Start out with a simple watch that’s affordable and clean. For instance a handsome watch that has a metal face and a brown leather strap.

2. Mix ‘N’ Match

I know there’s this rule to match your watch with your belt, shoes, or socks but a watch is so subtle that being anal about matching isn’t necessary. In fact, if you want to add onto your watch, you can do that with additional bands:

· A shiny metal watch will pair well with an inexpensive colorful bracelet.

· In reverse, a colorful strap watch will pair well with a slim metal cuff.

· A military watch would pair well with a leather band.

· As for gold, it shouldn’t be paired with anything else. It’s already a dressy timepiece.

3. Cuffs and sleeves are important

Don’t completely cover up your watch. I don’t know but from a women’s perspective, there is something sexy about guys rolling up their sleeves. It sounds strange, I know, but do we really have to explain ourselves? If you must know it’s probably the toned forearms, how relaxed the look is, hmm… I wonder what he can do with those hands…anyways I digress! But this simple exposure does it when it comes to showing off your new watch. You can do this with just about anything — sweater, cardigan, long sleeve shirt. Anybody can pull this off, it’s effortless.

· When you have tighter cuffs, wear a watch with narrow straps. Most importantly, your cuffs shouldn’t hide the face of your watch.

· Circular face watches are so common, so if you want to grab a little more attention choose a square faced one

· A BIG face is bold and refined at the same time

· Maybe even take a little extra time picking out one with fancy dials

I’m not saying men should obsess over having an array of watches. Actually, don’t become that guy that has way too many. Start out simple! Then once you get comfortable with wearing a watch, mix it up a bit with different metallic tones and colors. Don’t neglect your cuffs or sleeves because a little exposure can go a long way. What I’m trying to say is, having a few timepieces wouldn’t hurt.
