I'm experiencing a similar thing (although I also feel I have the imposter syndrome) where people who knows I can do solve twisty puzzles like Rubik’s cubes are like “You’re a genius, I could never do this in less than x days/weeks” even after telling them how easy it is, how everyone can pick up cubing and eventually speedcubing. But most things like that including memory sports are so stereotyped by the idea that only geniuses can do this when 80%+ of the world class speedcubers and memory sports athletes are just “normal” people who practised for hours and hours.
