November has come and gone in a whirlwind of activity at BABB, and we have a lot of exciting updates for you.
BABB on Blockfolio Signals
If you use the Blockfolio app to track your portfolio, you might have had a notification about BAX last week. We have joined the Signals beta, meaning we can send updates about the project and the token straight to your phone.
Our first notification was a sneak peek at our latest video, which is a big thank you to the community. The video is now live and you can watch it here.
Rushd at Revision Conference
On 20th November Rushd spoke on a panel about financial inclusion at Revision in Berlin, a conference which brings together organisations focused on using technology for social good.
Thanks so much to everyone who completed our survey about your experiences with raising funds and donating to fundraising campaigns. We received a lot of very useful data and we’ll publish some of the results soon so that you can see the most interesting insights from the survey.
BAX airdrop and bonus
We promised a BAX bonus to all equity crowdsale investors who bought at least £100 of shares, along with an airdrop for all investors and token sale participants if we hit our £1.5 million goal.
These tokens have now been distributed to the getbabb accounts of everyone who is eligible (and we’ve created new accounts for everyone who didn’t previously have one).
New Statesman dinner
Leonard and Gaurav recently attended a “Payments Transformatiom” roundtable dinner organised and hosted by the New Statesman and Tata Consulting Services. With speeches from many different bank executives, it was a very informative evening.
BABB in Forbes
This month, Rushd’s comment appeared in an article by Gina Clarke about Brexit and blockchain in Forbes. It was fantastic to have our opinion included in this comprehensive round up. We’re awaiting the publication of several profile pieces of Rushd and BABB, with further interviews lined up this month and early next year.
New team members
We would like to welcome two new members of the team: Joy Braun, Chief Strategy Officer, and David Pratt, Business Analyst. We’re very excited to introduce them, and you will be seeing more of these two key members of the team in future.
Blockchain Summit 2019
Rushd and Gaurav have been confirmed as speakers for the 2019 London Blockchain Summit, taking place in June next year. We’re still waiting for the 2019 speaker lineup to be published online — look out out for their faces.
App waiting list
The waiting list for the public release of the BABB app has only been live for a short time, but already there are over 3,000 people on the list. Huge thanks to everyone who has joined the waiting list and shared it far and wide.
Please keep sending your personal link to anyone who might be interested in BABB and help us build a huge waiting list ready to launch.
Lithuania banking licence
We’re making great progress with the banking licence application in Lithuania, with most elements in place. However, we must make you aware that we are unlikely to be able to submit our application for a Lithuania banking licence before the end of 2018.
Although we knew we needed to recruit a Lithuanian-based Chief Executive Officer and Head of Internal Audit, we weren’t aware that these key members need to be in place and confirmed in order for us to submit the application.
Recruitment aside, the rest of the application is finalised and ready to submit so we have accelerated the hiring process with a head hunter in Lithuania and hope to welcome our new team members very soon.
Live Q&A with Gaurav
Please join us next week on Youtube Live for a live Q&A with CTO Gaurav Rana. We’ll publish the date and time on social media and in Telegram once it’s confirmed, and look forward to taking your questions.
That’s all from us for now — have a wonderful Christmas and we’ll be in touch again very soon.
