This season, BAND went on the look for exceptional young athletes who empower and inspire everyone around them. We asked coaches to tell us about an athlete that has inspired them and the rest of their teams to work harder and push forward in the face of challenges.

We were amazed by the incredible stories that coaches from all over the country sent in about their athletes. The amount of love and passion felt by the coaches who submitted was clear in every entry, and it has been very difficult to narrow down the list of deserving and qualified athletes.

BAND is very pleased to present our Recommended Athlete Scholarship to Caylee Sanchez.

Congratulations, Caylee!

Based on her skill, sportsmanship, and perseverance, Caylee Sanchez has been awarded the ‘Recommended Athlete’ Scholarship by everyone here at BAND. We hope she continues to uplift her teammates and helps them band together!

Caylee is a dancer with the BlyueRose Dance Project. At 10-years-old, she is the youngest dancer on the senior team. she works hard to compete with more experienced dancers. At first, some of the senior dancers were hesitant to compete with someone so young.

When Caylee was little, she was diagnosed with a severe speech disorder and ADHD.

At first, she struggled socially, but her love for dance and cheer helped her to grow.

Even with tons of hard work, Caylee doesn’t always stand out during practice, but when it comes to performance day, she thrives.

A single parent of three, Caylee’s mom Tammy also puts in a lot of work to see her children succeed. Both Tammy and Caylee work hard to help the other kids with a “no-excuses” attitude that pushes them on.

Despite working two jobs, Tammy makes a point of supporting the entire team and helped provide other kids with costumes and other supplies when they were in need.

In addition to being a dancer, Caylee has also been a Girl Scout for four years.

Caylee gravitates towards other kids who are struggling and shows them how to succeed. Her positive attitude inspires everyone around her to work hard and continue to do what they love.

At BAND, we are inspired by Caylee and Tammy’s positive, “no excuses” attitude and passion for giving back to the team. We hope that this scholarship will inspire Caylee and her team to continue pursuing their goals and band together!

A great coach inspires their athletes, but great athletes inspire their coaches.

Coaches, do you have an athlete that inspires you and your team? There are still a few weeks left in the Coaches Recommendation Contest for you to submit their story for the chance to win a ‘Recommended Athlete’ Scholarship from BAND.

Event Period: August 7th — September 30th
