The BAND app is a great way for teams to stay organized and on the same page, but when you’re part of a larger organization, not needs to see all the information all the time. BAND makes it easy to split up into smaller clusters, so you can share the content with who you want when you want.

There are two main ways that BAND allows you to split up your groups: by splitting things up into Subgroups, or by Creating Multiple Groups for different teams.

How to Manage a Single Band with Subgroups

One of the greatest benefits of using the BAND app is only getting notifications about what’s important. But oftentimes, small-to-medium size groups and organizations will have certain types of information that are only relevant to one section of the larger group, whether it’s because of an age difference, topic, or role on the team.

By dividing some of the main features into subgroups, BAND helps you sort out which messages certain members are receiving, so they only hear about the messages that are most important to them.

Here are three different solutions that can help you separate your Band into Subgroups:

Cut Down on Excessive Notifications with Divided Chatrooms

Depending on the size and structure of your organization, sometimes you’ll need to have side discussions about a certain topic or subgroup within the organization. For example, perhaps you have a dance or martial arts studio with Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced classes — you can separate these into unique chatrooms so only the students and instructors in the class will get the message.

Keep the Feed Organized with Hashtags

Hashtags are one of the easiest and most powerful ways to make your Band group feel more organized. Members can quickly tap on a hashtag and find all the posts related to it. Admins and co-admins also have the ability to set suggested Hashtags as bookmarks at the top of your group so everyone has easy access to all the posts under the tag that’s most important to them.

Make Event Planning Easier with Color Coded Calendars

Have a lot of events that only one subgroup needs to know about? BAND makes it easy to label and classify different event types with color-coded calendars. You can different classifications to each team, then select those classifications whenever you’re creating a new event.

Creating Multiple Groups

If you’re part of a bigger organization or business, you might have groups that don’t really need to interact with your regular members, like your Board of Directors or Administrative team. BAND makes it easy for you and your organization to create multiple private groups, so need-to-know information can stay need-to-know, while public information can stay public.

BAND makes it easy to sync information across multiple Bands, so any information you create in one Band can be shared across all of your groups.

Here are two features that can help you manage multiple groups through BAND:

Calendar Sync & Export

Planning an event and want to let another group know? With Calendar Export, you can share the information with the other Bands you’re a part of. You can also Sync the Calendar with Google, Outlook, and Apple Calendars, so you’ll always know what’s coming up and when.

Share the Post to Other Bands

Written a post that another group also needs to see? Simply click on your Post’s Settings and tap “Post on other Bands” to share that Post somewhere else. You can even edit or schedule the Post before you share it!
