How to Contact Your School Board Rep

If you’ve never done this before, it may feel intimidating. (But it’s actually pretty easy.)

So each district has its own representative, and the people that are in “at-large” seats represent all the districts.

Basically, we all have four school board reps in total — one who represents just our district, and three that represent everybody. Contact all four!

All members of the CMS Board of Education are listed on the CMS website, along with hyperlinks (in red) to each member’s bio and contact information.

If you aren’t sure which school board district you live in, don’t worry.

5 Steps to Look Up Your Rep

  1. Go to
  2. From the blue sidebar on the left side of the page, click “District Look-up”
  3. Enter your address in the boxes provided, and click “Go”
  4. A hyperlink should appear with your address; click on it
  5. As in the screenshot above, you’ll see a list of your districts. Underneath that list, click the link in the middle of the page to get a list of all your elected officials and their contact information! (School board representatives are down near the bottom of that list.)

Many representatives can be found on Twitter and Facebook, too. So a quick social media search will usually be worth it.
