Quote (with ‘extra goodness’ special ‘quotation marks’ at no extra charge):

‘BOMB IRAN, BOMB BOMB BOMB’

This came to mind recently when I was in a prosperous, safe, reasonably happy city in eastern China (I consider the Chinese today to be a ‘reasonably happy’ people, in spite of a fundamental freneticism) (now what have I done to earn the angry fritzy little red underscoring — it’s a real word, dearie).

I was thinking of Yenchang, the second-tier city where I was teaching ESL to doctors, riding my Giant 27.5 mountain bike and visiting the deer sanctuary, one day being visited by a thermonuclear blossom, out of the blue, because some Pentagon dorks decide China has to be put in its place.

McCain exemplifies this thinking. Fuck him and the rest of the warmongers. May they drown in a tsunami and may their offspring despise them deeply.

I am the ‘war hero’ (more freebie quotes, see?), having sacrificed a career in academia to stand against the illegal, immoral and ultimately failed aggression in Vietnam. Read my old bike-racing pal John Blanton’s take on that one (‘I bought a shirt made in Vietnam that only cost a trillion dollars’) (Texas Skeptics blog).

In my protest against the US aggression I ate my draft card with ketchup on it and got slammed with a five’n’dimer (‘Destruction of United States Government Property’).

I offered to give the draft card back to them but by then the Grand Jury was not interested.
