Analysis: VfL Wolfsburg — Hannover 96
The game takes place on Saturday, 2ndMay 2015 at 13:30 CET in front of 30000 head crowd at Volkswagen Arena.
My tip is to choose home win at 1.45 odds. Wolfsburg will benefit from a strong squad, very good team chemistry, and as a cherry on top — their talismans: Bas Dost, Kevin de Bruyne or Andre Schurrle. In no way can the away team match the quality of these players.
Wolfsburg’s in good form, with just one player expected not to turn up in the game (Felipe — long term injured player that never made it into the first team though).
In contrast, Hannover is weakened by missing players. Amongst them, the most worthy of mentioning are — defensive starlet Andre Hoffman (injury) and another high quality defender Marcelo (red card). Germany U21 star, Leonardo Bittencourt, will be sorely missed in Hannover’s midfield, as will the Polish international Artur Sobiech on the goal post. The new addition to the squad, Ya Konan, just doesn’t have the skills to play on the top level yet.
To be honest, at this time, only goalie Ron-Rob Zieler, captain Lars Stindl and winger Jimmy Briand can cause Wolfsburg any real problems, but all in all, Hannover is not likely to score any goals, as they do not have enough attacking support to pose serious threat to Wolfsburg’s defense.
If I were to pick the correct score based on the match preview, it would be 2–0.
