Facebook Live-Streaming
Facebook is now introducing the ability for brands, businesses and profiles to share live video with their friends and fans.
Previously this ability was only available to verified Facebook Pages, which basically meant only celebrities were able to utilize the feature. Viewing was available to everyone, so the fans were able to view.
Recently, Facebook decided to roll this feature out to small percentages of users within the United States.
Facebook has made the decision to keep this feature within the application for profiles, so need for an external application for both viewing and broadcasting purposes. Possibly for Pages (businesses and corporations) the Facebook “Mentions” application will still be a requirement to broadcast. This information is yet to be released by Facebook…

The “Live Video” feature is built into the status update menu that pops up when you click “What’s on your mind?”.
No need for an external application such as Periscope and Meerkat, which leaves us wondering why Twitter didn’t just do the same and built it right into the platform instead of using a 3rd party.

While it may seem like Facebook has left many users behind, let us all just wait and see what our future of live-streaming on Facebook beholds.
