So the challenge? How can we make this any faster? (without bending the rules of React “too much”…). Any feedback is much appreciated!

For my own projects I’ve exposed the “pieces” of the chart that need to be animated to the React component, allowing me to use D3’s native methods without actually having it present in the component.

Doing it this way has meant the same performance advantage as I would have if I used D3 natively, but it means having a few methods in my chart class that do nothing but expose internals, so I’m not sure if it’s the best way
