The fact you must know about Polio and its vaccine

Till now polio vaccination was entirely driven by oral polio vaccine(OPV) in India. but now the country is moving towards Inactivated Polio Vaccine(IPV) because as per WHO guidelines if there is no polio cases in three years than we have to upgrade to IPV.

In OPV, live but weakened forms of polio virus are being used but in IPV inactivated virus will be used and it will be in the form of injection. The IPV can be administered with other vaccines.
