Skygazers in Singapore are in for a treat as the Pink Moon, the full moon that typically occurs in April, will be illuminating the night sky on Wednesday, April 24.
The moon will be visible starting from 7:23 pm, reaching its peak brightness at around 7:50 pm.
For those unfamiliar with the term, “Pink Moon” is a traditional name given to the April full moon by some Native American tribes https://www.farmersalmanac.com/full-moon-names-traditional-and-alternative. It has no relation to the actual color of the moon, which will appear its usual white or grayish-white.
According to the astronomy Facebook group Stargazing Singapore, the Pink Moon this year will be visible from the southeastern horizon by 7:45 pm if the skies are clear. So be sure to find a spot with an unobstructed view of the southeastern sky for optimal viewing.
