How Much Is Too Much To Pay For Dog Food?

My policy is mid-priced food. I don’t want to buy the super cheap kind, but wouldn’t spend hundreds of dollars a month on dry food alone. I buy grain free Redford Naturals, which is a store-brand of Pet Supplies Plus. The official price is $50 for a 24 lb bag (which lasts maybe 3 weeks for an ~80 lb dog), but it is on sale for $45 all the time, and they email coupons frequently too. My dog likes this food a lot. He probably would be fine with the cheapest stuff too, given the fact that he almost knocked over a table in the pet store once trying to get at puppuroni samples. And I’m sure he’d like the $76 food, but I don’t plan on trying it.
