It takes a strong, self-confident, leader to be vulnerable, and being vulnerable inevitably makes them stronger. This is not just true for CEOs, but for all levels of the team, for investors, advisors, and for the range of human roles. Someone that must always be right, is someone that will suffer the most when they are inevitably wrong.
Like the old saying that I don;t have time to say anything other than the truth because I don;t have time to keep track of the last lie told, someone that must always be right puts themselves in the position of justifying why their mistake wasn’t one, and often compounds the error or tries to apply the false learning later in a situation that may be far worse.
Everyone makes mistakes, thats human, what’s inexcusable is making the same mistake again. learn from your errors, and try hard to learn in advance how not to make them by listing to those that are willing to share the errors they made — the ones that are willing, even in and post success, to be vulnerable.
