The Entrepreneur’s Dilemma

There are a lot of things in our world that we can never be certain about. We call them the uncontrolled variables. The misfits. The outliers. And our way of dealing with these uncertainties is to ignore them and try to make sense of patterns. That is what we learn in statistics isn’t it? Outliers skew data and should be ignored. But what if I told you that the real story lies in these uncertain points?
If you haven’t already figured it out, entrepreneurship is one such outlier on the graph that plots Work against Impact. A lot of young people today are starting to understand that if there is a change to be made in the way things work, making that change through commerce and business is not only more impactful but also sustainable.
The Dilemma
One question every rookie entrepreneur has to answer today is “Do you have enough skills to run your company?”
And it’s a valid question, especially since starting a business is not a career specific to an industry. It’s all a matter of choice. So if you have ever been asked that question, it would be wise to stop for a moment and wonder why it is relevant in your case. And interestingly enough, with the rise of technology in the recent years, youth with management and arts degrees constantly find it a challenge to control the technical side of their businesses. Most often they look for co-founders or hire people and end up becoming dependent on their pace.
The Solution
At Babson, we’re redefining entrepreneurship and we would get there a lot quicker with an active community of people who work together to learn concepts in technology like software, hardware, and design development.
We at </code> hope to be the catalyst for this change and we invite everyone to join us on the journey.
Look forward to more posts from us!
