Bambino Teddy 2014, A history and review.

STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS.

It has been a long time since I have seen a proper review of a diaper, and I have never seen a good chronological review of any marketplace diaper.

My intent for this article is to review the July 2014 Bambino Teddy, and give a short, illustrated, chronological comparison between the July 2014 type, the January 2014 type, and the pre-November 2013 type. I will be splitting this review by focusing in on different physical aspects of the diaper and measurable features. In the final part of each section I will give my overall impression and other notes of interest.

An Overview

The diaper on the left is what Bambino sold us from 2012 to late 2013. These were from a previous manufacturer, and were in a steady quality decline since its 2012. The middle diaper is the new manufacturer’s take on Teddy diapers. These were first offered for sale in June 2014, and at the time of this writing, had sold out in the first 2 weeks. The final diaper on the right is one of the infamous “upside down” teddies that prompted the change in manufacturers. These were released in January of 2014.

Front Tape Panel

The Front panels are the easiest way to tell the 3 diapers apart. The January 2013 diapers have the bears spaced further apart, the plastic is bunched up under the tape, and the colors are faded. The 2013 and new 2014 diapers are close to identical, the old one having faded a little over time. Height is equal on all of them.

Leg Gathers

The new July 2014 diaper shines here. There are 4 lengths of band tightly adhered to the diaper with heavy ridges in the plastic. The 2013 model is close, but does not extend the whole length of the crotch like the new ones, and are not as well adhered. The Jan 2014 diapers have 3 strands that in most cases were not attached AT ALL. This is readily apparent in the top photograph of this post where the Jan 2014 diaper is laying completely flat on the floor while the other two have at least some bunch to them, and in the case of the newest, was quite hard to stretch out.

Tape Distance And Back Length

There are multiple points of data in this photo-

The Jan 2014 diaper is significantly longer than the other 2, which while is a great thing for those in the “big and tall” category, the rest of us looked like we bought the wrong size.

The distance from the bottom tape to the bottom of the diaper has decreased dramatically since Jan 2014 and is even slightly smaller than those made before 2014. This results in a tighter fit around the leg bands. As a skinny girl I feel these newest diapers are perfect in that regard, but I feel for those who have thick thighs or are larger than normal. Of the non-aesthetic changes I feel this is the most pronounced and fit changing.

While the diapers made before July 2014 share the same distance between the tapes, the new diaper has quite a higher spacing! I had noticed in January that alot of extra material was hanging loose from my little boy’s legs and I had quite a hard time taking it all in. These measurements confirmed my suspicions.

This review still needs work, but i will give my overall impression- the july 2014 Bambino Teddy is the best ABDL diaper one can buy. The pricing is fair and hasn’t been jacked up, the quality is amazing (for now), and Bambino is a great company to buy from. I give this my personal favorite award.
