The team at Balancer Grants DAO is proud to announce the approval of the grant application by Tempus to build their secondary markets on yield on top of Balancer V2.

Balancer’s technological innovations with its V2 are not being overlooked by upcoming projects. The Tempus team is developing a decentralized marketplace on future yield. Their protocol design will include an AMM module which will be utilizing the StablePool implementation of Balancer with a variety of changes. Tempus, together with Balancer will be on the forefront of exploring the financial primitive of future yield!

The grant will be spaced out over four milestones. Tempus is about to complete two audits on its specialized AMM codebase. And within the timeframe of their grant will launch both its testnet and its mainnet! To make this happen, the Balancer Grants DAO has allocated a $50,000 grant for the Tempus team.

It is truly amazing to see how the V2 of Balancer is already inspiring new teams to come up with ways to build out more money legos. Showcasing these possibilities is what the grants program is all about! I believe this will be the beginning of a longstanding collaboration between Balancer and Tempus — Zeb (Grants Lead)

We chose Balancer V2 because of its inherent benefits to our users. The gas savings aspect is a no-brainer — pool initializations and swaps on Balancer V2 are very gas-efficient. In addition, our new primitives will be added to the Balancer Vault, so our users will be able to benefit from multi-pool routing. — David Garai (Tempus Founder)

About Tempus

Tempus is a protocol where users can re-allocate the risk of interest rate fluctuations between each other. Users can deposit their yield bearing tokens (such as stETH) which Tempus splits into tokenized principal and yield tokens. Those primitives can then be traded against each other through the custom Balancer v2 AMM.

Tempus will offer capital-efficient fixed rate yields and high variable yields on various assets. For example, Tempus will be the first team to release fixed-rate ETH 2.0 staking through Lido. Tempus will also integrate Compound, Aave and Yearn.
