Balancer is adding Rust support!

Balancer Grants

The team at Balancer Grants subDAO is proud to announce the approval of the grant application by Andrew Garde Joia to create a Rust SDK for Balancer.

This grant will go toward providing a Rust language SDK for the Balancer community. There isn’t currently any Rust support in the Balancer ecosystem, so this is a great way to attract Rust developers, as well as bring a popular, fast, and secure language to the growing collection of SDKs Balancer provides. Specifically, the Rust SDK will provide full Rust language support for interacting with the Balancer Vault Contract (https://dev.balancer.fi/references/contracts/apis/the-vault) and Balancer Pools (https://dev.balancer.fi/references/contracts/apis/pools) APIs.

Balancer Grants is excited to have Andrew return for a second grant. Creation of a Rust SDK will expand Balancers reach to a whole new developer ecosystem. — John Grant, Grants Committee Member

I chose Balancer because I think it’s a great protocol that has really pushed the concept of AMM to a new level. I’ve been enjoying working with Balancer and the team, and am grateful to be able to continue to contribute to the Balancer ecosystem and make it easier for other web3 developers/enthusiasts to get involved and incorporate their projects. — Andrew Garde Joia

About Andrew Garde Joia

Andrew Garde Joia is a software engineer and front-end specialist who loves solving problems, writing elegant code, and manifesting ideas into reality. He’s always open to new challenges and is thrilled to be a part of the ever-impressive and ever-evolving crypto universe. This is Andrew’s second grant with Balancer.

Additionally, and already achieving one of its core goals of bringing new engineers to Balancer, this Rust project has attracted the interest of Jamie Rumbelow, whom Andrew has happily invited to join the project and help develop the SDK. Jamie is a product engineer at Fei Labs and a recent émigré to the web3 world. He has over a decade’s worth of commercial experience building web applications, developer tooling, and APIs for a range of clients and technology providers. He believes that programming is the science of the art of trade-offs, and so takes a pragmatic approach to writing code, with an emphasis on small, composable functions and resilient systems.
