Garuda wisnu kencana
The Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK) statue depicts Vishnu riding a Garuda. In Hindu mythology, Lord Vishnu is seen as the protector of the Universe, while his trusted companion, the eagle-like Garuda, symbolizes loyalty and selfless devotion. Kencana means gold, and both are decorated with crowns of gold mosaics. Garuda is also the symbol of the Indonesian state and symbolizes independence.
Designed by renowned Balinese artist Nyoman Nuarta, this statue is made of copper and brass and has 754 modules with 25 steel segments weighing 900 tons, weighing 1300 tons of steel. The statue and its pedestal are 120.9 meters high and 64 meters wide thanks to the wingspan of Garuda.
