This article reads like the author didn’t read the manifesto itself but rather the dishonest representations of it in the media. The author of this medium being a successful female techie is not incongruous with the google manifesto at all: the manifesto talks about *average group differences* and provides endless caveats that such trends do not provide grounds for discrimination for/against any individual. The existence of *some* tall women does not disprove the trend that men tend to be taller, and if we were to look at the tallest people alive today, the vast majority would probably be male.
The whole point in bringing up these average traits was to explain why google isn’t getting the numerical parity they so desperately want, despite bending over backwards to appeal to women and minorities. At no point does the manifesto suggest there should be no women in tech, in fact he provides several suggestions on how to attract more women without resorting to quotas and discrimination.
