The Second Civil War

So the Republican Party and even the mainstream media are now backing away from and distancing themselves from The Overcombed One aka Trump.

It’s a bitter pill to swallow as far as I’m concerned when I look at their ‘new-found’ outrage, because for YEARS NOW the Republican Party has been an unstoppable torrent of racist rhetoric and actions against this POTUS and his perceived tinted base of souls. Yes they’ll say that it’s because these people vote democratic so it’s a par for the course political tactic. While that may indeed be a factor, the timbre, intensity and even Kamikaze-like/scorched earth tactics unapologetically inherent in this fight from the Right has presidential historians and long time politicos ‘scratching their heads’.

Not us in the so called minority community. What’s going on is very familiar to us and sadly very old. These folks scratching scalp are being too polite to call it what it is (They dare not or the bombastic, ratings-boon republicans will no longer grace their studious with their presence and take the rhetoric that spawns ‘click bait’ back to FOX . . . but that’s another discussion).

It’s bitter pill to swallow because for YEARS during the Birther nonsense (and throughout countless other breathtaking insults) no one in the GOP and in the mainstream media made any ‘peep’ of significance about it.

“We take him at his word . . .”

Seriously!?

So miss me with your Johnny-come-lately ‘outrage’ over a persona that is frankly the dutiful child of the last 7+ years of Rightwing rhetoric and action.

If we were such a moral and non-racist country there is no way Republicans would have won the way they did in 2014. And the consequential election before that in 2010 would have seen their victory margins being way smaller if they managed a win at all. Those who utter such racist drivel would have and should have repulsed the nation so much that the party would have been roundly and uniformly routed from our political system

But that didn’t happen

And it looks like it will continue to be a pipe dream.

The sad thing is Republicans may retain many seats in a congress and the senate next year . . . when they shouldn’t!

And you know whose fault that will be?

White People

Too many of you feel in your gut the same racist sentiments many of your Republican personalities — elected or gas boxes in the media — have been espousing! You will be responsible for embarrassing this country in the eyes of the world

Don’t look at people of color for ANY blame for this! It’s all yours!

YOU are the numerical majority and you’re still uber-represented in all the major institutions and companies with societal and national power. And too many of these institutions again BACK the candidates that champion these racist ideologies. Your money flows incessantly towards any all sorts of efforts, proposals and policies that frankly do nothing but hurt mainly people of color and of course the working class across the board.

But many in the working class support the GOP as well because they too buy into the racist ideology you have been championing (I personally know union members who have voted republican for reasons that are racist but the cognitive dissonance is so strong they don’t realize it and you can’t tell them without it turning into a huge argument!)

And again the folks that do this are overwhelmingly white.

Accusations that I’m ‘lumping’ is sure to come. But frankly I don’t give a damn about your umbrage because I must have pricked the little conscience gnome inside of you:

How many times have you allowed your uncle or grandfather or even parent(s) to utter something racist in your presence and you did nothing?

How many times??

I don’t care what the reason for your ‘abstinence’ may have been. The end result is you’ve kept an appendage of racism alive within your sphere of existence . . . and when you add up millions of these ‘globules’ of cowardice . . . you end up with a country that is awash in racism and all sorts of other bigotry and hate

And what was the catalyst for all of this resurgent pigment-driven angst?

Barrack Obama a person of color got elected and re-elected and many of you just lost your collective shits!

People of color didn’t start this

YOU did and you’ve used racism towards your benefit overtly and subliminally for centuries, with tangible worldly fruits to show for it because the economic system forged from this has allowed your exclusive access to certain fields of capitalistic ‘crops’ from since before this land mass was called the United States.

You started it and you need to end it

My ilk have been dying and fighting for centuries to wake up a conscience in you to recognize our shared humanity. Many of you do get it and have given your lives towards the goal of decency and quite a few of you are as staunch and loud about this as a person of color . . . but still too many of you are insistent on holding on to this age-old ugly.

And now you’ve gone apoplectic nuclear with a racist, fear-driven delusion about the demise of what you thought was your position in the world — subliminally(your delusion makes you feel that discrimination against you is actually a crisis #StayMadAbby) and overtly(you don’t like seeing so many people of color assert themselves and succeed because that “must mean that they took something from ‘you’ that they couldn’t have possibly have deserved!”)

Why is that?

“. . . because all these years they’ve been here why haven’t they been asserting themselves?”

Again willful collective cognitive dissonance makes you forget about 400 years of genocide, Slavery, the civil war, segregation and Jim Crow that held people of color back . . .

And the most visible example of these ‘unearned accolades’ is Barrack Obama

“How did this come to be? This can’t be. There must be some mistake . . . must be. It must be remedied or else They’ll overrun the place . . .”

So thus you let loose or should say legitimized the Tea Party (before he had done anything frankly) to start to ‘take back the country’

Vituperative, vapid and raucous personalities abound with God-like sway over many of your troglodyte brethren on the airwaves and in elected office at all levels.

Proudly-ignorant-of-government-function folks invade via electoral Tsunami and wash into said government to destroy the same with a frothy-mouthed parasitic flourish.

Every single social and legal decency once taken for granted is under assault especially if so-called minorities derive any sort of significant benefit from it . . . even if many poor whites depend on it as well . . .

Unheard of breaks in decorum and expressions of respect for the office of POTUS and other cabinet positions conspicuously become ‘the norm’ (who remembers Joe Wilson yelling out #YouLie?) . . .

And the topic(s) dujour:

‘Blessed’ and ‘permitted’ police and state brutality against people of color, Unprecedented obstruction, deliberate economic sabotage at every level of government, treason(but the media refuses to call it that), zealous campaigns for secession, targeted punitive measures against so-called minorities and their ‘newly granted rights’(come on folks . . . it’s less than 50 years ago!) . . .

Etc . . .

. . . All part of the same white angst against what is perceived to be a rising tide of Brown.

So what have you done to sate your myopic, deluded anguish?

You’ve started the Second Civil War of the United States.

And again this is driven by people ‘who liked things the way they were’ . . . which if you were a human being you’d know that that status quod was untenable and destined to be taken apart.

But when you derive a confident sense of self and worldview from an overt and subliminal, omnipresent white supremacist-run society and world frankly . . . then any visible change or feeling of deviation from that subjective norm can make you feel like your life is being threatened.

Right?

So #BlackLivesMatter and other movements’ unapologetic boldness, demands and disruptive tactics are hugely problematic

The sheer visibility of so many people of color in certain positions(like POTUS) and their dominance in once mostly white spheres like Tennis(The Williams Sisters comes to mind and before them Arthur Ashe among others) is also problematic.

And our rights that you ‘absently’ let pass in the 1960's are suddenly, now that you perceive your dominance being threatened, also problematic

Also the ‘coloreds’ of today have too much ‘pride’ right? They’re not backing down and are demanding you listen to them eh? It’s all too perplexing for your mind right?

Hence its War.

Too many among you are unapologetically racist, or worse, don’t realize they are.

And only those of you who see this can do anything about it. Only you can become double agents — blend in among them, get their confidence and use it to influence or sabotage their efforts, while steadfastly fighting for equality.

It’s time to pay up for your unconscious privilege. You’ve been fooled into thinking it has been free. People like me have been dying for your perceived ‘right’ to remain asleep and relatively apathetic to ‘my woes’. It’s a noise you’ve been hearing so long that you no longer consciously hear it.

Well we’re breaking the damned ‘speaker’ now, we’re scratching the LP up as we drag the needle roughly across these grooves, we’re inserting our pirate hip hop and heavy metal signal into your centuries-old Lincoln Center Chamber Orchestra Lite Fm channel . . . wake the hell up!

Those on the right are the most glaring culprits but you on the left as well have to pay the piper. Don’t delude yourself into thinking you’re ‘clean’ either because you’re married to a person of color or you date us or you’re friends with us. I say that because reading and watching your reactions when the BLM activists interrupted Bernie Sanders left something to be desired and it was greatly disappointing.

You sounded very much like Fox with the derision and displeasure you lobbed at the activists. So you aren’t immune either.

Examine yourself constantly and let’s fight this thing . . . or else this time around The New Confederacy will win this Second Civil War.
