Thanks for the post. I agree with much of what you write and I think it can work for a recognized national/global brand like the NYT. My bigger concern is for metropolitan dailies and truly localized news coverage—and whether this model can work without the scale of an NYT.

I’m not worried about more coverage of #Election2016. I worry about who’s watching City Hall.
