I would like to start my 2019 in Review by mentioning how important it was to me to decide to fund the project space/gallery space. The initial idea came to me when I lived in Moscow, ID. These paintings were produced during my artist-in-residence at GoggleWorks Center for the Arts. The ad poster for GoggleWorks factory-inspired these three paintings. The sign itself was made in the early ’80s and was advertising use of goggles. The most appealing part of this photograph was a woman putting on the glasses and holding them near her face. That was for an interesting element that I decided to use in the painting.
Paintings became a combination of abstract and figurative elements that created a unique interpretation of the poster.

The exhibition at the Brownsville Museum of Fine Art brought over 30 pieces curated together into one solo exhibition. The Greek myth of Sisyphus inspires Paramount of Eternity solo exhibition. Sisyphus was a Greek king whose suffering involved pushing an enormous rock up a steep peak, only to discover it falling back down when he neared the top.
