I have read many books regarding Christianity and following Jesus. Some books require a slower reading due to how deep the content is, while others can be read fast because the content is easy to grasp. Anyways these are 5 books I recommend in no order of importance.
1. The Bait of Satan, John Bevere
This book is a really popular book and it’s guess why. This book discusses the topic of offense, something that so many people deal and some are not even aware of it. It has questions and prayers to help you practically.
2. Simple Devotion, Micah Wood and Samuel Bentley
This book discusses the topic of prayer based off of Matthew 6:6. It is a practical guide to prayer and teaches that devotion looks as simple as that, rather than what we think is radical.
3. 12 Ways Your Phone is Changing You, Tony Reinke
This book discusses the many different ways our phones have negative effects on our lives. This includes higher rates of depression, carelessness while driving, etc.
4. Worn Out by Obedience, Ron Moore
This book discusses the topic of feeling tired, weary or burned out. Over the years, believers sometimes get tired of being a Christian and walk through a season where they might walk out away intentionally or unintentionally.
5. Just Do Something; A Liberating Approach to Finding God’s will or…, Kevin Deyoung
This is a good book as it discusses, how often people stay stagnant because they are afraid they are making the wrong choice for everything. So instead of looking for super spiritual signs, the author implies that God is more concerned about trusting in Him. Sometimes there will be a sign, but there are times where there won’t, because God wants us to take a step of faith.
All of these books are interesting and while I never fully agree with any Christian book, I know that there are pages, lines or a principle something that God may want to speak to us directly. May the Holy Spirit give you discernment to tell you what is right and wrong as you read any Christian material out there.
