By this, we mean that if New Mexico accounted for 0.58% of the votes cast in the election, it should account for a similar number of overall tweets. In reality, New Mexico accounted for 0.62% of our tweet count. Further, when we ran a linear regression on the data, our r2 = 0.8712, which indicates a high correlation between the two variables. Thus, our tweets are distributed in a manner that is relatively consistent with the pattern of voting.
