Makes sense that I was learning about it in the 90s and why I have such a poor taste in my mouth about it!

I totally support using objects (especially for the messaging between your programs) and I do get that OOP is more than inheritance. But the inheritance portion of it and the extending of other pieces that are championed as what OOP is has always left a poor taste in my mouth. I might have to give it another go.
