UNESCO world heritage sites

UNESCO’s globally supported initiative to define valuable sites has prompted many countries to protect these sites, which was the primary intention of the initiative. The initiators also expected that the nomination of a site by UNESCO would have a promotional effect on tourism there. But that turns out to be quite minor.

When one searches for the world heritage sites at tourism agencies, one usually finds no reference to them. You can find the geographic coordinates of the sites at whc.unesco.org, but this is a too time-consuming procedure for most.

Therefore, the aeo1us.com/whs application was created. You will find the sites in the area where you are located with their address, a short description of the site, a photo or video of the site and tourist information.

That is why we are looking for tourist frequented businesses who want to strengthen their local community involvement by making the QR code of the app visible in their shop(s). There is no cost involved except for the display of the QR code in the shop.
