Not a washout! Chatham celebrates start of annual Maritime food and drink festival

The thunder and torrential rain didn’t stop food lovers flocking to the fourth Chatham Maritime Food and Drink Festival today at St. Mary’s Island.

Once the sun came out visitors were able to start off the three-day-event by tasting a range of delicious homemade preserves, plump ripe strawberries and vegan burgers.

Those who went along were able to stroll along the waterside on St Mary’s Island to taste the offerings from local food and drink producers, but also watch a mix of Kentish bands and DJs.

Tomorrow, visitors will also be able to enjoy a dragon boat race event for the Medway Sunlight Rotary Club.

One clap, two clap, three clap, forty?

By clapping more or less, you can signal to us which stories really stand out.
