Ha ha, I TOTALLY agree with you about Gilbert. So many people think he is the perfect man but I find it kind of annoying that his whole personality revolves around thinking everything Anne does is great. The problem does go back to the book.

I didn’t actually watch the 2017 version comparing it to the 1985 version, but, as always when watching an adaptation of a book, held it up to the original material. I brought up the 1985 version because I think it does a much better job of capturing the spirit of the book than the 2017 version does. To be honest I grew up thinking the 1985 one was kind of dorky and I it always made me irritated when people said I looked like Megan Follows.

I am a cranky old lady when it comes to movie adaptations of books, so I don’t have much tolerance for more ‘innovative’ interpretations. I am stubbornly purist like that. Thanks for reading the review though, and for sharing your thoughts on the show!
