3 Reasons You Need to Turn Your Book into a Product
Right now it seems like everyone is publishing a book.
Which is an amazing feet for people to stand above the mediocre. However, it usually means they have drunk the kool-aid and believe in the myth that a book will make the rich. Drunk kool-aid or been sold some “How to Publish a Book” system by some person pimping out the magic of being an author.
There is a MASSIVE difference between an author and a truly best-selling author who is selling products every day!
I know many of those Amazon “Best Selling” authors who are broke. So there is a model that works and a model of smoke and mirrors.
True best-selling authors understand that it is not the book that makes them rich, but the products the book is selling. Or more importantly, pay attention to the products they are selling from the stage. It is never just the book, the book opened the door and gave them some form of credibility.
They rarely just sell a $20 book from the stage, they always give you a copy of the book when you buy their more expensive product. Often you get the book for free if you show up to the event or plus postage style marketing.
Are you paying attention to what is happening here? The book is a 150-page sales letter that will open doors and allow you to build your list. It is the START of your funnel. Not the end.
Even Robert Kiyosaki of Rich Dad just was not selling the book. The Book was the hook to get you to the events, buy the game, buy the audio program or the digital course. What is funny is that even though these books are older, they are still causing millions in sales each month.
TIP #1: One of the big shifts in business in 2016 is going to be people’s focus on results. The more you can demonstrate results and recent case study results, the easier it will be for you to gain business. So showcase results.

This is a half-truth…
It is more like a 1/10th truth.
A book can make you rich if your book is selling your products and driving people towards your sales funnels so you can continue the conversation online and offline with these qualified prospects.
One of the biggest myths is that a book will make you rich.
Sorry, it won’t.
Let me share the story of a client I will call Mrs Jamica. Mrs. Jamica had published 13 books and had another 4 in the works as we spoke. BUT Mrs. Jamica was not making any money from these books.
In fact, thousands had been spent on some of these books, so the ROI was negative.
So the hours Mrs. Jamica had spent, and the hundreds of thousands of words Mrs. Jamica had edited were for nothing.
All because Mrs Jamica failed to connect each book to the objective of connecting the readers to the start of your sales funnel.
Once Mrs. Jamica was able to define the clear objective of each book and what it was selling Mrs. Jamica was able to edit the books and tie them tie the relevant sales funnels. This resulted in Mrs. Jamica increasing her closing ratio along with driving traffic to the products behind the book, and giving the book away as a free gift with purchase.
How can you do this?
Well here are a few ways:
* At the start of the book reference a free download that people need to visit your website to download.
* Create an audio book that is an expanded version of the book and allow people to download this if they buy the book with a coupon code that his hidden on an offer page in the front or back of the book. (If you want help with this visit www.Cuppa.io and you can set something up for free.)
* Make sure the back of the book as multiple next step actions based on what the customer will want to do next. It should never be for your time but an Audio, Training Program, Cheatsheet or some other valuable resource.
*Invite people to a webinar throughout the books as you can not guarantee what part of your book your customer will read. So assume if you pick up any page to flick through there is something connecting you to the front of your funnel to collect their email address.

Reason Number 2:
The reason you wrote you book was to share your knowledge and build your business. Based on Amazon.com statistics 98% of books are never opened let alone read.
So if a Customer does not read your book how are you going to do more business with them?
Easy.
You need to be in a position to offer the next step.
The next step is an under $200 course or program that will share with them the secrets that were in your book.
By creating this $197 or less product, it will allow you to automate the audition step of you recruiting qualified and paying clients. Allowing you to advance your customers to the next stage, which is a more expensive product, service or coaching or consulting.
By creating a sub $200 product you can save yourself from wasting time with people you current waste time with because they are not qualified. Along with increasing your profits because for as little as $5 a day you can be building your list and creating sales of this products online while you sleep.
This alone has some major perks for growing and expanding your business. But what is even better is reason 3.
Another benefit to a sub $200 is the ability recover your advertising and marketing costs for a customer. This increases the profitability for your business and your list will be more valuable as you have credit cards on file, rather than just emails. A list of buyers is far more valuable than a list of emails with no purchase. So don’t just focus on your list size, when you should be focused on converting people along your product escalator.
Reason 3.
You thought a book opens doors.
Well the one thing that opens doors more than a book is the person that is teaching people to achieve X result.

Yeah I have published some books and got another 2 books getting published over the next few weeks, but that is nothing.
As soon as what I share with people what I teach, and show the results based case studies that my students are having I get invited to speak at events around the world. December resulted in my traveling from the USA to London, UK twice, spending 4 days in Las Vegas in front of 500 entrepreneurs and getting selected to be in a Movie that is getting released in early 2016.
Would this of happened if I just had a book.
In my honest opinion NO.
It happened because I took one of my books and turned it into the 7 Rules for Creating Products that Sell. From there people want to know these rules and are happy to pay over $997 to learn them. Yes, they can buy a book for $24, but they would rather spend the money because they are getting videos, worksheets and activities to help them further.
What is, even more, exciting is that every time I record one of these events it now gets edited into a new version of the book. Along with the recordings getting sold for a few hundred dollars.
Could I do that with just a book?
I would say No. Why?
Because there is only so many hours in the day and even when I charge clients $10,000 a day they still continue to book me to help them improve their conversions.
Knowing how to increase your Book readers lifetime customer value from $24 to $197 or $997 is a much better skill than just publishing a book.
So hopefully, you will understand now that the next step in your publishing career as an author is now to create a $197 product that you can sell on autopilot.

TIP: How to Write a book fast.
If you want to create a book fast, all you need to do is record either video or audio of you presenting and being interviewed. You can then get this audio or video transcribed and edited into a book. For most people 2 mins of speaking is 500 words. If you need about 42,500 words for about 150 page. That is only 85 mins (1.5 hours) of audio or video. When I do most events it is 6 hours minimum or 14 hours max of content in one session. That would take me 10x longer if I had to sit at a keyboard and pound out these words. Most of the best-selling books on the planet were transcribed. So go with what works and you will be amazed at the results.
Done and selling today is better than perfect tomorrow.
