I think you’re on to something — that books don’t have distracting social media buttons or messages or texts coming in. When you’re reading a book it’s just you and you’re present and focused. So that could be considered an advantage.

But one skill most people have lost is the ability to do nothing. Or to just go for a walk without their phone. You can’t come up with great, creative ideas reading, watching, or podcasting.
