Your body is a vessel

Treat it well and use it wisely

There is a corner hidey hole at the end of the office — A very useful little space to go for some quiet.

It is in this space where I have some glorious ideas!

and guess what?

I am about to divulge one of these ideas on to your brain right now. So open your earholes…actually, no, open your eyes — Just pay attention alright!

Hidey Hole

Now as I touched upon already, we are at my hidey hole and BOOM, this thought comes in to my head.

Our bodies — yours and mine — are vessels. We get the privilege of being able to control one of these wonderful creations. Everything you are experiencing, is done so through your awareness; luckily for you, your awareness resides in your body. Or your mind. Both…Basically you are you and you know it!

When you really think about it, you get to control a fully functioning human being! Or possibly a partially functioning one, depending on your age or general wear and tear over the years — maybe even a disability. But what matters here isn’t so much the current state of your body, but the fact that you are in control.

Try raising your hand right now. Bloody magic isn’t it?!

You tell your body what to do and it does it!

Limits

It got me thinking. Do we really use our bodies to their full potential? I’m gonna take a guess a say probably not. In fact I would even go as far as to assume you spend most of your day sat on your bum; watching Netflix or sat at work in front of a computer screen all day — or even worse, sat in front of a screen all day and then Netflix all night.

Don’t worry I am guilty of this too!

The thought of it actually made me have a little dance. Happiness was exuding from my soul and it just made me happy.

To think that every single action we take, every breath we breathe, every word we utter from our lips…is all in our control.

You have the ability to literally change lives. Your own. A stranger you have yet to meet. Maybe even a stranger that you will never meet. Hell, you might be reading this from across the other side of the world and somehow feel an impact from it in some way. Maybe it will spark some sort of realisation in you, which in turn leads you down this path of bettering human kind. All because I made the decision to use my lady fingers (That’s for you Philippa) to type out this mumbo jumbo.

The chance of me having that sort of impact on someone’s life is very teeny tiny, I know…but hey it could happen!

What will you do now?

So with your new found freedom of self, what are you going to do?

Maybe take up a hobby you have always wanted to do. Humans are pretty dam resilient and I believe we should push our bodies to the edge sometimes.

You will never know what you are truly capable of until you push to your body to its utmost limits, and then keep going.

How far are you willing to push yours?

What does a baby do when it falls down? — Yeh, it gets right back up. Young children are daredevils. It is only when we learn of the dangers that may befall us, that we stop taking risks in life. Of course some people are less prone to listen and will carry on testing themselves regardless. The majority though? Well, they live life a little safer — never realising their true potential.

Back on track

I seem to have strayed from the point I am trying to make here. So let’s bring it back and summarise!

  • You are a lucky little shit to be alive.
  • Your body is capable of more than you know.
  • Enjoy your body

Bonus — Nobody else has your body. You are the only one that gets to experience every single bit of it. What you consider to be your flaws, make you, you! Don’t try and change yourself to ‘fit in’ or be like everyone else. Be as uniquely you as you can be! Sing, dance, run, embrace — PUSH!

Right that’s it for today. Till next time friends!

Follow, comment, clap. Use your body to do all of the above and then SMILE that radient, unique smile of yours!
