In their minds, that’s precisely, and sometimes even explicitly, precisely the kind of reasonable, nuanced (ie. mealy-mouthed), touchy-feely, careful, soft-headed, *liberal* -minded consideration that gave them Just Cause to be so resentful and angry at the “others” in the first place.
