Let’s discuss a topic that can directly increase your income in the weeks ahead.

Let’s say I’m sitting in your office. I want to buy a home or list my home for sale. You’ve introduced yourself and your company. You’ve explained the next steps in helping me achieve my real estate objectives. I listen to what you say and then I ask you a pointed question:

“Why should I use you and not another real estate agent?”

Are you ready to give a persuasive answer to my question?

Many real estate agents are not. They are seemingly unprepared to be asked this question even though some form of this question is to be expected.

Your prospects are paying someone to help them make one of the biggest buying decisions in their life. If you were making a huge financial decision, wouldn’t you be curious about the advantages the person helping you has to offer over the competitors?

To be clear, no real estate agent knows the answers to every question: “How much rainfall does this neighborhood get during El Nino years?” That’s an obscure question. But asking why you… this question is commonly asked by prospects when deciding which real estate agent to use. Some of them will be bold enough to ask you out loud. The rest will decide your fate without asking.
