Thanks for the response and not trying to maliciously bash on your perspectives.

You seem to be a very educated sort. I commend you for that. You do seem to enjoy the art of linguistics. You are reaching a bit in your use of it to criticize Trump. Especially when comparing it to a written speech by George Washington, to which you are comparing a prepared, written text from the 1700’s to Trump giving an live interview on CNN. Comparing these two forms of expressive dialogue in oral and written text is not a viable, well-thought notion considering the vast difference in how they are delivered, how the context was delivered, and how the language was delivered within that context.

It’s a pretty silly criticism anyway. The reason I say so is not to be dismissive of your point, but because I just don’t think Trump speaks like a 5th grader, as you think so. If he actually did, as you claim, I think you are completely alone in that opinion. Unless, you are of the opinion that you are either smarter than everyone else, or not familiar with 5th grade typical speech capabilities and capacities. By simple common sense, if what you assess is true, then there would have to be a lot of stupid people that take wisdom out of his 5th grade capable dialect, not to mention the stupid people that he’s been able to do business with over the years that’s put him in the billionaire’s club. Also, if you compared a 5th grader to a presumably adult male or female with a PhD education in any capacity in any way, chances are you’ll see the PhD do significantly better in everything you compare, not just with articulation of speech.

It’s a petty point you made which has led to a petty argument. Again, not trying to be rude. It’s just boring, honestly. Is there actually any policy or anything with any topic substance on Trump or the presidential race you’d like to discuss, other than linguistics?
