Your beautiful voice is ready to be heard by 100s, even 1000s. Are you ready to share it?

Okay, then let’s get to the details of how you can get started.

Pick a Website

I use ConvertKit for my own newsletter, because it is free for up to 10,000 subscribers and has the best features, including a landing page.

You only get one email sequence version (more on this later) for the free option, but this can get you started.

The paid version is $25 or $290 a year.

Beehiv is another popular site that does some of the same things as ConvertKit, but is limited to 2,500 subscribers for the free version.

The paid version is $39 or $375 a year.

Another option is Gumroad, which I use for digital products, such as Notion templates (more on this in a future newsletter).

They are free, but take 10% of all sales. They offer a limited landing page, email sequence, and newsletter.

There are others, but this gets you started.

Mapping Out Your Email Sequence

  1. Landing Page

When you clicked on the link for my newsletter on 𝕏 or other social media, it sent you to my landing page. This page was created on ConvertKit, as well. (I’ll focus on this page in a future newsletter, as I need to optimize mine, now that I have some numbers to analyze.)

To get you going, create a logo for your brand, a vision, and goals to meet that vision. Put your logo and/or a profile pic of you on your landing page.

How will your brand’s vision and goals help your followers? On what will you focus in your newsletter to align with that vision and goals?

These things you should put on your landing page.

2. Welcome Email

When you clicked on the button for my newsletter, you received a welcome email allowing you to opt-in to subscribe.

This provides your followers some personalization and the final option for opting-in to your newsletter.

Add a profile pic to your welcome email and make it authentic.

3. Welcome Newsletter

The first newsletter you received from me was a Welcome Newsletter that detailed what to expect in future newsletters.

It introduced me to my readers and gave them a preview of what to expect in subsequent issues.

Think of this first newsletter as a more detailed Welcome Email.

Wow, that seems like a lot of work …

And I haven’t even created my ACTUAL newsletter.

True, but remember that once you have created all of the above, you don’t have to recreate them anew each week. They will be included in email sequences for all new subscribers.

Finally, we get to your …

4. Newsletter

After you have created all of the above, it’s time to share your beautiful voice in your own newsletter.

Hopefully, you have been writing short form and long form posts to 𝕏 or other social media. If not, what are you waiting for?

If you have been posting consistently to 𝕏 or other social media, you have data to analyze to see which ones have been popular. Which ones have the most impressions, likes, reposts, etc.

These topics and ideas resonate with your audience, so you can focus on them in longer pieces in your newsletter.

You can also discuss how you are building your business, such as I’m doing with this email.

You can create a newsletter cycle, such as this one about newsletters.

You can write about your most recent digital product, course, or eBook launch.

The sky’s the limit, really, to what you can write about, but remember:

Always fulfill the promise you made to your readers in your landing page.

And follow the lead of your subscribers, followers, and readers:)
