Visiting The New Bangkok City Library

It could be a surprise to many people that Thailand isn't all parties, prostitutes, and “ladyboys”. I dedicated to highlighting the true essence of Thailand, the wisdom of the ancient culture and the bright future as a leading economy in Asia. If you follow my writing you can learn how to connect with these traditional and modern aspects of life in Thailand that many visitors miss out on.
Right at the gate of the tourist hub, Kaosan Road, across from the grand palace, Bangkok has a decadent new library. For this trip to Thailand I had a few goals for research. One of the top priorities was to visit co-working spaces.
The library entered my radar from several sources. Simply from passing by on the bus and then multiple people recommending it. Of course it isn’t technically a coworking space but this is the old-school version of the modern phenomenon. Workspaces are important for the rising startup world, just look at WeWork raising $4.4 billon funding this week.
So heres what I thought. first of all it’s free, so there isn’t any reason for complaint. It is 3 floors and I had a little trouble finding a chair or a desk. there were a good amount of people sleeping with their open school book or notes as a pillow. I saw some monks, girls taking dozens of selfies. Honestly the only real problem was that the internet as a guest only lasts 40 minutes. I would have stayed longer if not for that problems. You can’t bring a bag inside so it was a bit awkward walking around with my laptop.
For all the locals, backpackers, expats, I can recommend a visit. This is a perfect escape from the insanity of Kaosan Road, peaceful and air conditioned. It could be an ideal place to recover from a hangover you got just around the corner.
