Hmmm. Now remember I’ve sat in on these eval thingies, so pay attention.

You need to have an attitude. Not a flavour of the week. Lemme explain.

There’s a guy who goes through the entire rigmarole of first trying to get through the school thing. Then he tries ( oh goddang he tries !) to steer his career toward what he loves, let’s say it is the military. Then he twists his dick and breaks his arse to conform to what is told to him will be expected of him when he arrives at that sad, sad bungle called the SSB.

When he arrives there, he assumes a role. It’s what he thinks is his ‘best foot forward’ mode. And that right there, gents, is what tapes a label across his ass that says “not likely”. From there , any mistake is further downhill. Maybe even gets screened in the second error, which is a nervous disposition, that tells ’em that he’s not normally like this, just on this day he’s presenting the goods that he cannot probably deliver consistently , and is constantly looking at us to see की हमने till now भांप लिया है के नहीं.

Get it ?

Now, take another guy. True, both have busted their asses maybe to clear school / college or whatever, while still maintaining their physicality. But this guy is laid back about his ‘appearance of perfection’. He’s more concerned with proving his superiority. His nervousness is not about what the fuckers will think of him. He’s just lookin’ to beat everyone else. More concerned with that. It’s because the genetic predisposition and his experiences in life have only taught him to beat others to win. This tapes a “wow , hot stuff “label on him, no matter if he can’t talk straight english , or makes a terrible storyteller, or unimaginative type. The thing is, most servicemen at the SSB staff are already identifying with him, get it ? Most of his mistakes can be overlooked and adjusted, and any positives will only take him higher in their book. Now if he still fails , he may fail the psych thingy or maybe a complete one-trick pony, and a dunce , but his chances were better than yours !

Don’t take me wrong son. I trained over three thousand men and helped selecet over 200 boys who later became men and I’m personally interested in seeing guys like you clear this, that’s why I’m saying all this. Be honest to yourself. You just ‘carry the requisite attitude expected to the ssb’, hoping to pass muster, but your unconscious does not obey your resolve there, because the body is more honest than the senses and intents. So , it screws up at key moments, साली धोका दे जाती है , ना ?

My advice to you is meditation. Yes Meditation. Complete sensory deprivation, depression and disassociation with the fucking world, family, friends, TV, computer, web, games. Go to the roof of your house and gaze up at the sky or sit in a bloody dark room, or … whatever. Cut off and motivate yourself to adopt a new personality. There is no other way, man. You cannot be what you ain’t, and you may safely return to being what you were if it still seems good later, but to pass the muster of the powers that be, you need to ‘blend, baby… blend’. That’s what i keep telling you guys. It’s not that I’m a great guy, a navajo/irish/scotland/israeli bad dude plantin’ flag all across life’s highway . I’m not always like that. Only write to seem that bad-ass for fun.

The truth is , the army will gladly accept the guy who doesn’t give a flyin’ fuck for the ‘romance of the uniform’, especially when war or conflict is demanding tough bastards. They know they can train the toughness into you. All they don’t want is people who are busting their asses tryin’ desperately to get in. That’s why I advertise that attitude. Just go there confident in yourself, not hoping to gain the confidence of the uniform.

The uniform needs a man with balls to put it on. It is fuckin’ useless without you. You just take your balls to the place, let ’em see they are not your ‘mai-baap’, don’t look at them expectantly , let the bastards judge all they want. Just let yourself go on the riffraff trying to take your place. You know you’ll be better at this job than a hothead from haryana who might crush a coconut with his head, but what the coconut had inside was of more value than what’s inside his head ! You know you’re better than that. Just change your expectations and attain a true ‘care-a-hoot’ mindset , adopt it like a religion. Short term, defeat everyone else, win. Every move and event in life should be perfect. I know it’s tough to leave things on chance , with the money of parents riding on you, your career and stuff to think about. Trust me, from this age it appears if you miss all the right trains, you’ll be fucked for life. It just so happens, that people who get first seats in those trains and are never late can also be fucked, in a single day they loose all their career and edge. So it’s all overrated, the timings, waiting lists, everything can be adjusted and handled later , when the right kind of killer instinct is activated.

I hope I make sense and this helps.
